UNIKION2026Bringing personality to AI consulting
Unikion helps companies make AI understandable and useful in everyday work. The challenge was to create a brand that communicated expertise and credibility while feeling approachable, memorable and different from the increasingly familiar visual language of the AI industry.
PERSONALITY WITHIN THE SYSTEMLooking at the category, I quickly saw a pattern: technology-driven aesthetics, muted palettes, gradients and AI-generated visuals. For Unikion, I wanted to take a different direction. The company is ultimately about people working with technology, so the identity needed both credibility and personality. The visual language combines a restrained black, white and grey foundation with bold neon accents. Neon green became the defining colour, bringing energy and recognition to an otherwise clean and structured system.
FINDING A DIFFERENT ANGLEThe hand-drawn logotype brings a human quality to the identity. Small details, including the playful U, add character without making the brand feel overly casual. Typography, colour and simple graphic elements create a flexible system that can move between professional presentations, social content and more expressive brand communication. Rather than making every application look identical, the system creates recognition through repetition and rhythm.
MY CONTRIBUTIONI created the visual identity from concept to final brand system, including the hand-drawn logotype, colour palette, typography, graphic principles and guidelines for applying the identity across different touchpoints.
An important part of the work was finding the right balance between professionalism and personality, creating something distinctive enough to be remembered while still supporting a business built around expertise.
REFLECTIONUnikion was a good reminder that differentiation doesn't always require adding more. Sometimes it comes from recognising what everyone else is doing and deliberately choosing another direction. The goal wasn't to make an AI consultancy look like an AI consultancy. It was to make Unikion look like Unikion.
